Here's a little trick to work around with this problem...
When you reach the part asking for the product key, just leave it blank and click on the Next button. All Windows 7 installers accepts a Key-less Installation which would install a trial based copy of the product good for 30 days.
It's best to install it that way first if it will not accept your product key because once you reached the Windows 7 desktop and you activate the product while Windows 7 is already installed, it will tell you the exact reason why it is not accepting the product key.
Try activating your product after installing a 30-day trial based copy of Windows 7. Here's how:
- Click on Windows 7 Start button/orb.
- Right click on Computer.
- Select properties.
- Click on Activate Windows Now.
- Enter your product key and wait for the automatic activation to finish.
If it did not work, try get the exact error code. This will help you to troubleshoot further the problem of your product key. Good luck!
